The ask

We met Lightricks in 2019, it was a different world back then… ;) Although a leader in the visual content creation app space with mobile app store staples like Facetune and Videoleap, the brand name Lightricks was relatively unknown, so they wanted to build awareness in the consumer mobile app ecosystem, in the creator economy, and more recently in the AI tool development space. The second part of the ask was to push the flagship product Facetune.

Our approach

To tame this two-headed monster - brand awareness and product marketing - we realized we need to devise a campaign that is a bit like an Apple event; bells & whistles that play on the emotional connection to the brand together with deep dives into the product that showcase its features.

We pursued a high volume of targeted press mentions for Lightricks and its product line, running the gamut from coverage of product release news announcements to bylined opeds and expert quotes to product review pieces to contextual mentions of product use cases in trend commentary items.

Results

It says so at the top of the page, but we’ll repeat it nonetheless: between August 2019 and August 2023 we landed for Lightricks 503 media hits; that’s an average of more than 10 a month, 5 years in a row. Not many PR agencies get to keep a client for that long and we are humbled that we did. We’ll update this case study in 2028.
